As accounting software like QuickBooks becomes more widely adopted, understanding how accounting professionals interact with this software provides valuable insights into their practical value and usability. This study aimed to explore the experiences of accountants in selected micro, small, and medium enterprises [MSMEs] around Cebu using accounting software in terms of its customizability, user-friendliness, automation, data entry errors, and integration issues.

This study utilized a qualitative case study approach and employed purposive sampling to select ten (10) accounting professionals from various industries in Cebu City and Mandaue City who actively use Quickbooks in their financial reporting and operations. A researcher-designed interview guide, validated by a content validator and a content expert, was used during the in-depth interviews. Thematic analysis was employed to interpret and categorize the collected data into relevant themes.

The themes developed on the experiences of accountants in selected micro, small, and medium enterprises [MSMEs] around Cebu using accounting software in terms of its customizability, the themes emerged: The Art of Customization: Personalization as a Strategic Edge, Growth Through Adaptive Financial Insight, and Access Control: The Power of Role-Based Security; for the experiences of MSMEs accountants in terms of user-friendliness and automation while utilizing the accounting software, the themes emerged: Intuitive Interfaces for Seamless Learning, Efficiency Unleashed: Flow Across Every Skill and Thriving Through Real-Time Transition: Resourceful Paths to Success. In the aspect of the challenges faced by MSMEs accountants in utilizing the software in terms of the data entry errors, the themes emerged: Accurate Reporting Empowers Better Decisions, Uncovering Flaws in Inventory and Transaction Data and Enhancing Accuracy with Automated Procedures; for the challenges faced by MSMEs accountants in utilizing the software in terms of integration issues, the themes that emerged: Mastering Change: Overcoming the Learning Curve in Process Transformation, Tailoring Solutions to Complex Workflow and Customization Challenges and The Foundation of Success: Support and Training Stuctures.
