These businesses face significant challenges related to cash collection, cash disbursement, and cash control. Poor cash management could lead to shortfalls in cash and financial instability which could disrupt daily operation and growth opportunities. To tackle these issues, researchers at the University of Cebu-Banilad investigated the cash management practices of grain retailing businesses in Cebu City to formulate a cash management primer for grain retailing businesses to manage their cash effectively. The respondents in this study were forty-three (43) grains retailers using a z-score. The study utilized a descriptive research approach, gathering data through a researcher-made questionnaire and face-to-face interactions. Frequency count and simple percentage were used to analyze the respondents' profiles based on the store's location, years of operation, approximate monthly income, and weighted mean to examine what cash management practices were employed by grain retailing businesses. The researchers used One-way ANOVA to determine if there is a significant difference between the respondent's profile and the cash management practices they employed in their grain retailing business in Cebu City, focusing on cash collection, cash disbursement, and cash control. The researcher conclude that more grain retailing businesses were located in Barangay Ermita, Cebu City, and had been operating for 6 to 10 years, earning an approximate monthly net income of ₱10,000.00 to ₱15,000.00. They moderately practiced cash collection, cash disbursement, and cash control. Moreover, the result showed that there was no significant differences in the cash management practices of grain retailing businesses in the areas of cash collection, cash disbursement, and cash control when grouped according to profile.
