Hog raisers still face enormous financial risks despite their substantial contribution, especially when it comes to operational risks, liquidity risks, credit risks, and market risks. In order to provide a risk management primer for more sustainable business operations, this study aims to evaluate the financial risk management strategies used by commercial hog raisers in Southern Cebu, including Carcar, San Fernando, Barili, and Dumanjug. A researcher-made questionnaire was utilized to gather data from thirty-six (36) DTI-registered commercial hog raisers who had been in business for at least five years as part of the study's descriptive-survey design. The instrument concentrated on the respondents' risk management strategies in four main areas: market risk, credit risk, liquidity risk, and operational risk, as well as their demographic profiles (years of business, herd size, and income). To determine whether there are significant variations in the risk management methods in relation to the profiles of the respondents, data were analyzed using one-way ANOVA, weighted mean and simple percentage. The results showed that the majority of hog farmers employed financial risk management techniques in a moderate manner across the four risk dimensions, with the greatest emphasis on market-related measures and the least on liquidity and operational risk reduction. Based on the profiles of the respondents, statistical analysis revealed no significant differences in risk management techniques.
