"This study investigates the knowledge, attitudes, and practices (KAP) regarding voluntary blood donation among adult residents of Barangay Pilipog, Cordova, Cebu. Blood donation is essential for healthcare systems, yet many regions, particularly in developing countries, face shortages due to low participation rates. The Philippines exemplifies this issue, with a significant gap between blood supply and demand. This research assess the KAP levels among Barangay Pilipog residents, one of the lowest blood donation rates in Cordova, Cebu. A cross-sectional study design surveyed 165 residents aged 18-60 through stratified random sampling. Data were collected using a validated questionnaire, assessing knowledge, attitudes, and practices related to blood donation. Analysis included percentage distributions for knowledge accuracy, weighted means for attitudes and practices, and correlation and regression analyses to explore relationships between sociodemographic factors and KAP levels. Findings revealed moderate knowledge about blood donation processes, with significant gaps in understanding the minimum age requirement and donation frequency. Attitudes were generally positive, with strong agreement on the importance of donating blood and recommending it to others. However, these attitudes did not consistently translate into practice, mainly due to time constraints and personal factors. The study underscores the need for targeted educational campaigns and more frequent blood drives in Barangay Pilipog to bridge knowledge gaps and convert positive attitudes into actual donation practices.
