"Medical school is known for its rigorous training and high academic demands. Academic stress, particularly during examination periods, is said to be one of the significant causes of stress among medical students. Stress can influence various aspects of one’s life, including one’s eating habits. This study aims to determine the relationship between the eating habits and examination stress of first-year to third-year medical students of University of Cebu – School of Medicine. A cross-sectional cohort study was conducted among the first-year to third-year medical students of the said institution. An adapted and validated questionnaire from a previous study by J.B. Sathmi S. De Silva et al entitled “Correlation Between Eating Habits and Exam Stress Among Medical Students in Malaysia: A Cross-sectional Study”, which entailed a 5-point Likert scale, was used for the assessment of eating habits and examination stress among medical students. The questionnaire consisted of three parts: questions related to their demographic profile, examination stress, and eating habits. Data collection was done through an online survey, wherein the questionnaire and informed consent forms were distributed through Google Forms and the 122 selected UCSM students were allowed to answer the form only once. Pearson’s correlation coefficient test was utilized to find the correlation between examination stress levels and eating habits of the respondents. Significance was set at 0.5 alpha.
