The textbook, HOPE 2 Sports for Life, emphasizes that sports and physical activities are good for the mind, body, and spirit. They promote and develop discipline, dedication, and leadership, among many other traits. HOPE 2 is divided into four units. These are as follow:
Unit 1 Basics of Sports discusses the health benefits of sports and physical activities, the common injuries in sports and physical activities along with their first-aid treatments, the ways to prevent injuries in sports and physical activities, and the common warm-up and cool-down exercises.
Unit 2 Individual, Dual, and Combative Sports explains the history of table tennis and arnis, the equipment and terminology used in table tennis, the common warm-up and cool-down exercises for table tennis, and the mechanics and rules and regulations in playing table tennis and arnis.
Unit 3 Net-barrier Sports focuses on the history of volleyball, the equipment and terminology used in volleyball and sepak takraw, the common warm-up and cool-down exercises for volleyball, and the mechanics and rules and regulations in playing volleyball and sepak takraw.
