N2  - "This correlation study explored the relationship between material and non-material reward systems and learning motivation in primary school students. Motivating students to engage actively in their learning process in critical to educational success. This research investigated whether implementing reward systems correlates with increased motivation among primary school students.
The study adopted a quantitative research design. The research utilized data gathering by requesting the list of grades of the grade 3 students from the primary teachers per grading at the Elementary department in the University of Cebu-Banilad Campus. The data was gathered face-to-face to acquire detailed responses. The participants were assessed based on their grades and self-reported motivation levels while utilizing material and non-material reward systems in the learning environment. Additionally, academic performance records were considered to provide further insights into the relationship between material and non-material rewards and students' educational motivation.
The study's findings revealed how most of the students during the 1st and 2nd grading periods, where non-material learners excel in class and could achieve academic success without relying solely on material rewards, and how most of the students during the 3rd and 4th grading periods were able to maintain their grades even though the teacher shifted from non-material to material rewarding systems in the classroom. The study showed no significant difference in the academic achievement of the research subjects' between using non-material and material rewards." —Abstract
