183 pages : colored illustrations ; 28 cm. "Proper work motivation is necessary to retain the cleaning sector employees because their work is often hectic, time-intensive, and low-paying. This study assessed the work motivation and job satisfaction levels of the janitors in the University of Cebu campuses. The researchers used a descriptive correlational research design to determine the levels of work motivation and job satisfaction of the janitors at the University of Cebu. The research was conducted at four (4) UC campuses: UC Banilad, UC Main; UC Lapu-Lapu and Mandaue; and UC Maritime Education and Training Center. The modified questionnaire was used to gather the data and it was subjected to pilot testing to test its reliability. The Cronbach Alpha of 0.978973 indicated that the modified survey questionnaire was reliable for final administration. In treating the data, the researchers used frequency count and percentage distribution, chi-square test of independence, and weighted mean. The researchers ensured that the fundamental principles such as beneficence, non-maleficence, justice, and autonomy are adhered in the study proceedings. The findings indicated that the majority of the respondents are 41-50 years old, male, and married. At the same time, more of them worked for a period of more than ten years. It was found that janitors possessed high levels of intrinsic motivation and identified regulation in their work. Furthermore, they also possessed a high level of job satisfaction in their work as janitors. Moreover, there was a significant relationship between the demographic profile of the respondents and their work motivation. Lastly, it also revealed that the profiles of the respondents have a significant relationship with their job satisfaction. Therefore, the janitors at the University of Cebu have a strong sense of fulfillment regarding their work and it is aligned with their personal goals and beliefs." —Abstract Adult Wenzy Rose B.
