"Bureau of Fire Protection [BFP] plays a crucial role in safeguarding lives and properties through fire suppression, rescue operations, fire safety inspections, and fire safety awareness and education. Despite this mandate, BFP personnel assigned to the Mandaue City Fire Station in Region VII encounter various operational realities that shape their daily work. This qualitative study aimed to explore the lived experiences of BFP personnel in relation to fire operations, rescue operations, fire safety inspections, and fire safety awareness and education. This study employed a Descriptive Phenomenological Approach to explore how BFP personnel interpret and give meaning to their professional experiences. Data were gathered from ten (10) BFP personnel through in-depth interviews and were analyzed using thematic analysis to capture shared meanings and interpretations of their operational experiences. The findings revealed several emergent themes reflecting the lived experiences of BFP personnel. In terms of fire operations, themes included dispatch information assessment, rapid on-scene action, scene size-up and hazard assessment, and personal protective equipment safety compliance. For rescue operations, participants described experiences centered on risk-balanced rescue decisions and adaptive hazard and stress management. In fire safety inspections, themes focused on community fire safety engagement and initial entry and compliance assessment. Experiences related to fire safety awareness and education highlighted community fire prevention outreach and community engagement evaluation. To address operational challenges, BFP personnel employed coping mechanisms such as training-based stress control and post-operation recovery practices." —Abstract Adult Jason G.
