"This book is prepared in compliance with CMO No. 39, series of 2021 entitled "Policies, Standards and Guidelines on the Implementation of Tertiary Physical Education: PHYSICAL ACTIVITY TOWARDS HEALTH and FITNESS (PATH - FIT) COURSES."
The major goal of physical education is fitness, that is, the individual can live a healthy, satisfying, and useful life (Andin, 2014). To do this, the individual has the right to choose what activity he/she will do. Studies show that one of the most convenient, satisfying, and useful activities is through engaging oneself in exercise-based fitness activities. These activities will help individuals understand the importance of self-help exercise-based activities and the application of these in facing daily tasks effectively and efficiently.
Today, with the new generation called Gen Z, these activities may not be sold to them because of the prevalence of gadget use. Through this book, students will be able to appreciate the significance of exercise-based fitness activities in attaining a quality of life, thus living a healthy, satisfying, and useful life.
This book is created to complete the activities the students should have as stated in the CMO's. It provides information to all readers. As part of the PATH FIT curriculum, this book provides the concepts and skills needed to attain a quality of life through the different activities which are exercise-based fitness. Topics are presented in the following order: Unit 1 - Physical Fitness Test, Unit 2 - Exercise Program, Unit 3 - Fitness Training, and Unit 4 - Research Outcome for Exercise-based Fitness Activities.
Considering the topics presented herewith, the authors believe that this book will be of great help to everyone who has a passion for exercise-based fitness activities." —Preface
