The employees should be given a clear direction on where they are going to when they become part in organization. This study intended to assess the extent of the manifestation of a sound human resource management (HRM) practices of the University of Cebu- Banilad assessed by the teaching and non- teaching staff. The results of this investigation will be used as bases in the formulation of interventions in the current human resource management system. This study applied the descriptive correlation method of research using a researcher-designed questionnaire. There were 48 employees who served as respondents of this investigation using purposive sampling technique. Percents and median, mode and range were computed to analyze the data. The result revealed that wages and salary administration, training and development and change in personnel status were practiced in some cases only. Further, the career management, job security and status, working condition and people empowerment were factors that motivate them in some cases to perform well in their respective job functions. There is significant relationship between the age and the respondents perception on the human resource management practices. However, there was no significant relationship between the age and the employees perception on the motivational factors. Furthermore, there was also no significant relationship between the respondents gender and their perception on the human resource management practices.
