This study is anchored from the theory of Ida Jean Orlando which is the Nursing Process. Her overall goal was to develop "a theory of effective nursing practice that would identify a distinctive role for professional nurses that would provide a systematic foundation for the study of nursing". It is the nurse's responsibility to see that the patient's needs for help are met, either directly by her own activity or indirectly by calling in the help of others. The researcher first sought permission from the Dean of College of Nursing by writing a transmittal letter. The researchers gathered the data from their respondents through personal interaction. The respondents were well informed about the study and their participation from the success of this research they were given a consent form to have their Medical-Surgical ward exposure checklist in the Related Learning Experience Manual be photocopied for the purpose that it serves as the research tool. After gathering the data the researchers sought guidance of the two statisticians for interpretation. Thus, though the right guidance by important people the study was successful. Bases in the finding the respondents from level IV nursing students who had been exposed in Medical-Surgical area were performing an above average level of competence in the utilizing the nursing process. The researchers also concluded according to analyzed data that regardless of age and gender the nursing student competently delivered quality nursing care. Based on the findings, the researchers then recommend that in conducting an elevation of the level of competence of the nursing students in implementation of the nursing process it should be base on the actual performance. The researches also suggested that a follow up and updating student's knowledge, skill and attitude in providing nursing care through doing nursing process would help in producing competent nursing students.
