Every year, the number of Filipinos suffering from poverty is increasing. These unfortunate Filipinos live in heavily populated residential areas wherein environment is prone to infection. By the moment they get sick, they have no money to compensate in undergoing treatment. So their easiest and usual option is to herbal treatments hence it is practical economical. One of the commonly known diseases that infect these people is dengue fever. The use of herbal medicines is very practical and economical especially to those patients who can't afford to purchase expensive medicines as well as for those who want the natural way of treatment. These herbs, though, can't really cure the disease; it helps the body fight the virus. One of these globally known medicinal herbs is the Euphorbia hirta L. EUPHORBIA hirta L.or managaw as commonly called in Cebuano is a hairy herb or weed abundant throughout the Philippines that grows in waste places and open grasslands.This weed has been known to cure various sicknesses but the latest issue caught our interest. Managaw plant is commonly being used today as an alternative in treating dengue.
