This also sought to answer the profile of the respondents and the significant relationship between the problems encountered by the student nurses and the respondent's profile. The researchers also want to give recommendations to the students who will be exposed in the area for them to be prepared in whatever Related Learning Experience exposure they may be in especially in psychiatric ward wherein they will deal with patients with mental disorders. This study utilized a quantitative-correlational research design using researcher-made questionnaires which were used to determine the problems encountered by student nurses in the implementation of care in Vicente Sotto Memorial Medical Center- Center for Behavioural Sciences. The questionnaire has two parts. The first part contains the respondents' profile which includes age and gender. The second part contains twenty questions with its corresponding four (4) numeric scales which are used to determine the profiles encountered by student nurses in the implementation of care in Vicente Sotto Memorial Medical Center- Center for Behavioural Sciences. The respondents of this study were the selected fourth year student of College of Nursing of the University of Cebu, Banilad- Campus S.Y. 2010-2011 who have been exposed in Psychiatric Ward or the Center for Behavioural Sciences in Vicente Sotto Memorial Medical Center for an Related Learning Experience duration of two weeks. The total number of respondents were 265 wherein the respondents were taken from the 18 sections of level IV. But during the distribution of questionnaire, only 254 respondents supplied the needed information in the questionnaire and 11 respondents didn't. Based on the study, the findings showed that all the respondents often encountered problems in the implementation of care with their patients, the student nurse's skills and attitude. They sometimes encountered problems regarding their knowledge. Most of the respondents were female (70.87%) and those student nurses belonging to 20 years of age are most numbered with a percentage of 43.31. The study revealed that there was no significant relationship between the problems encountered by the student nurses in the implementation of care and their age. The variables of age and the problems encountered showed a computed value x^2 of 3.98 and a tabulated value of 31.53, tested at 0.05 level of significance with the decision of accepting the null hypothesis. The study also revealed that there was no significant relationship between the problems encountered by the student nurses in the implementation of care and their gender. The variables of the problems encountered and gender showed a computed value of x^2 of 0.51 and a tabulated value of 9.35, tested at 0.05 level of significance with the decision of accepting the null hypothesis. The study arrived at a conclusion that the respondents encountered problems in the implementation of care in Vicente Sotto Memorial Medical Center- Center for Behavioural Sciences with the patients, student nurse's skills, attitudes and knowledge based on the results. The interpretation was that the profiles of the respondents specifically the age and the gender were not significant and it didn't affect the problems encountered in the implementation of care. In the view of the data gathered, presented, analyzed and interpreted and based on the findings of the study, the researchers recommended the following; (1.) the researchers would like to encourage the future level IV student nurses who will be assigned in Vicente Sotto Memorial Medical Center- Center for Behavioural Sciences to read ahead of the common mental disorders in order for them to understand each manifestation, (2.) the researchers would like to encourage the future level IV student nurses to act collaboratively in performing care for the patients, (3.) the researchers would like to recommend the students to review and practice their therapeutic communication skills and (4.) the researchers would like to recommend the coming fourth year nursing students to develop their knowledge, skills and attitudes to experience less problems or no problems at all in the implementation of care.
