It is one of the least visited cities in the province of Cebu according to the tourism Office of Mandaue. The study focuses on level of awareness of the residents on tourism programs in Mandaue City and also to identify the current programs of Mandaue City. The study utilized descriptive-correlation survey method using a researcher-made questionnaire in gathering data to the 204 respondents who were the residents in Mandaue City. The gathered data was subjected the following : simple percentage formula, weighted mean and chi-square test of independence. The findings of this study shows that majority of the respondents were 36 years old and above. Most of them were females, married, college level and residents of Barangay Pakna-an. The current tourism programs were : cultural activities, tourist assistance services and destination branding and marketing. The respondents were highly aware of the celebration of abundance of Mantawi vines, the city provide tourist assistance desks in various places and presence of tourist police personnel in the city, and there were many advertisement promoting Mandaue tourism industry. The suggestions to be undertaken by the Mandaue City Tourism Office was the city should provide tourism related skills training like tour guiding for the local residents. The researchers proposed a sustainability plan for Department of Tourism in Mandaue City to sustain the level of awareness of the residents on tourism programs.
