This study delved into the lived experiences of executive housekeepers of three-star hotels in Cebu. The study explored into their job roles in terms of training new employees, supervising employees, and promoting employees. It also addressed the challenges faced by the executive housekeepers. The study was conducted through in-depth interviews with seven executive housekeepers from various seven three-star hotels in Cebu. The interviews is audio-recorded and transcribed for analysis.
The study identified several common themes which are Onboarding Employees, On-The-Job Training, Peer-to-Peer Learning, Onboarding Support, Autonomous for efficient workers, Progress Review, Performance Appraisal, Performance Based Promotion, Deportment Over Promotion. Additionally, the challenges faced by the executive housekeepers are Training a Disengaged and Distracted Worker and Lack in Manpower.
