Summary: This study determined the academic performance of Level I and Level II nursing students of the University of Cebu-Banilad Campus. Specifically, the profile of the respondents in terms of age, gender, year level, student type, major subject taken, and midterm grade and its affect on academic performance were identified.
The study utilized a descriptive-correlational research design. Threre were 90 respondents who were bonafide students enrolled in the University of Cebu-College of Nursing. Convenient sampling was utilized and a research-made questionnaire was utilized using simple percentage, weighted mean and chi-squared method.
The findings revealed that the majority of the respondents belonged to the ages 16-19 years old female, level I and first course bracket. A majority of the respondents' major subject was Anatomy and Physiology NCM 100 and had passing midterm grades. Based on the findings, it was seen that factors related to Instruction greatly affected the academic performance of the respondents. There was also a significant relationship between the year level, major subject and midterm grade versus the respondents academic performance. The researchers in order to expand knowledge based on the findings.
