Summary: Summary: "HearMe Spell" is a mobile application run on android-operated phones with Jelly Bean as the minimum SDK and the latest android version as the maximum SDK which guides the user in the decoding American Sign Language through camera utilization. The core problems that the application addresses are: the gap between the deaf-mutes and abled people; and the unawareness of the user specifically the abled people with American Sign Language . To provide solutions to it, HearMe Spell allows the recognition of the hand gestures particularly finger-spelt basic American Sign Language and the translation of its specific definition respectively. HearMe Spell is an offline service therefore users can use it without the interference of the internet. I is also has features like Talkee, Favorites, tutorials , and Help. This thesis study covers all android phones and tables with cameras built on it.
