Specifically, this study determined the profile of the students in terms of age and gender. The study will determine the significant relationship between the respondent's profile and the level of performance among the practicing preceptors of University of Cebu-Banilad for school year 2011-2012. This study utilized a descriptive - correlational research design. The respondents of the study were the 127 out of 219 total population of practicing preceptors from the University of Cebu-Banilad who were enrolled in the College of Nursing. Convenience sampling technique was used. A researcher-made questionnaire was utilized using the Simple Percentage, the Weighted Mean and the Chi Square Test of Independence. On the age profile, a large number of respondents were in the age range of 17 to 22 years old or 94% of the respondent's population. On the gender profile of the respondents, majority of them are females or 72%. There was no significant finding in the level of performance among practicing preceptors. The study revealed that most of the students highly performed in Developing Individual with a weighted mean of 3.33 while the practicing preceptors performed moderately in Achieving the Task and Building the Team. In the light of the findings of the study, the following recommendations were implementation of the proposed action plan; to improve their leadership skills; workload and assignments for the preceptees must be well disseminated by the Practicing Clinical Instructors during the pre-conference before the duty starts. Conduction of pre-test for the preceptees must also be done on the first day of duty. In order to improve the socialization skills of the practicing preceptors, the relationship between the practicing preceptors and preceptees must be thoroughly assessed and rules must also be strictly implemented.
