520 _aSummary: This study gave a bird's eye view on the working values through the perceptions of the students. In this way, one would evaluate the performance of the teachers. This is very important in order to have knowledge on the quality of education and educators we are hiring in this institution. Moral development theories try to explain" how individuals acquire moral values and how such values help guide the way persons treat other people". Although various psycho social and cognitive theorists have addressed moral development within their respective theories. The Problem This study aimed to determine the work ethics and classroom performance of cultural teachers at the University of Cebu- Banilad SY 2007-2008, the findings of which was the basis for an enhanced work ethics seminar.Specifically, this study answered the following questions: 1. What is the profile of the respondents in terms of: 1.1 age; 1.2 gender; and 1.3 monthly family income? 2. What are the work ethics and classroom performance of cultural teachers as perceived by the fourth year nursing students? 3. Is there a significant relationship in work ethics and classroom performance of cultural teachers as perceived by the students in terms of: 3.1 age; 3.2 gender; and 3.3 monthly income? 4.Is there significant relationship between work ethics and classroom performance of cultural teachers as perceived by the fourth year students? 5. Based on the findings of the study, what seminar would be feasible to propose? Research Methodology The researchers utilized the descriptive correlational design in gathering the facts and also describing the relationships among the variable. The researchers conducted a study at the college of Nursing at University of Cebu- Banilad Campus, located at Archbishop Reyes Avenue, Banilad, Cebu City across Gaisano Country Mall. The fourth year nursing students of UC-banilad wrere the research respondents. The main instrument used in the study is the questionnaire. There was a pre-testing done on the HRM students of the University of Cebu- Banilad campis in order to find out the discrepancies in the tool. In preparation for our data collection, the researchers made a permission letter. By the time it had been officially approved, data collection was then put into action. Simple random sampling was used in determining a sample of 273 over the population of 861 of the whole fourth year students. Chi- square was used in order to know the significant relation of the demographic profile of the respondents and their perception on the work ethics and classroom performance of the cultural teachers. Pearson -r was the used in order to prove a significant relationship between work ethics and classroom performance. Summary of Findings In summation, Majority of the respondents were females(189 respondents), and the majority of the respondents belong to the age group young adulthood, and majority of the respondents belong to a monthly income bracket of 10,000-16,427(31.95 %).With a grand weighted mean of 35.6, the work ethics of cultural teachers was very good. With a computed chi value of 60.55 and a critical chi value of 113.10, at a 0. 05 level of significance; the null hypothesis was accepted. There is no significant relationship between age of the respondents and their perception on the work ethics of the cultural teachers. With a computed chi value of 80.25 and a critical chi value of 43.77, tested at 0.05 level of significance; the null hypothesis was rejected . There is significant relationship between the gender of the respondents and their perception towards the work ethics of their teachers. With a computed chi value of 61.45 and a critical chi value of 67.50, tested at a 0.05 level of significance; the null hypothesis is accepted. There is no significant relationship between the monthly family income of the respondents and their perception towards the work of the cultural teachers .With a computed chi value of 109.57 and a critical chi value of 113.10, tested at a 0.05 level of significance; the null hypothesis was accepted. There is no significant relationship between the age of the respondents and their perception on the classroom performance of cultural teachers. With a computed chi value of 60.63 and a critical chi value 43.77, tested at a 0.05 level of significance; the null hypothesis was rejected. There is significant relationship between gender of the respondents and their perception towards the classroom performance of the cultural teachers. With a computed chi value of 54.35 and a critical chi value of 67.50, tested at a 0.05 level of significance; the null hypothesis was accepted. This means that there is no significant relationship between monthly family income of the respondents and their perception on the classroom performance of the cultural teachers. With a computed r value of - 0.22 and a critical r value of 0.514 tested at a 0.05 level of significance; the null hypothesis was accepted. There is no significant relationship between the work ethics and classroom performance. Conclusion This study shows that work ethics was very good and classroom performance was good. The age and family income of the respondents have no significant relationship to their perception on the work ethics and classroom performance of the cultural teachers, while gender hold the only significant relationship among the demographic profile. This study also shows that there is no significant relationship between the work ethics of the cultural teachers and their classroom performance; but it holds little correlation between the two variables: work ethics and classroom performance Recommendation An enhanced work ethics seminar is recommended in order to enhance the classroom performance of the cultural teachers in regards to their work ethics
