520 _aSummary:This study determined the attainment of the maternal role responsibility and the challenges of mothers of the UC Banilad faculty. The study was anchored form Mercer's Maternal Role Attainment which described maternal role as a process by which a mother achieves confidence in her ability to care for infant and becomes comfortable with her identity as a mother. Specifically, this study look into the profile of the respondents,in terms of age, number of children, civil status, type of the family. This study utilized the descriptive- correlational design to determined the relationship existing between the statistical variables which tend to vary. The fifty informants of this study were the current female clinical instructors of University of Cebu- Banilad, College of Nursing who has child or children. The researchers utilized 20 items researcher- made questionnaire to find out the extent of the attainment of the maternal roles among the respondents. Based on the findings a total of 34 female instructors who have child or children responded the study. The majority of the respondents belong to middle adulthood whose ages range from 40-44 years old; mostly married; with a dual career/dual earner type of family. The female clinical instructors attained the great extent on the maternal roles; however, the group of clinical instructors answered some extent on deciding career for their child and guiding their child to select the profession that was best for their child. Furthermore, the profile of the respondents had no significant relationship with the extent of maternal role attainment. The researchers concluded that the significant relationship between the profile and the extent of attainment of maternal roles among the respondents,and lastly, the researcher recommends: to have the proposed plan.
