520 _aSummary: This study determined the utilization of safe nursing care practices among staff nurses of selected hospitals in Cebu City. A descriptive-correlational research design was used in the study in aid of a four-point. Likert researcher made questionnaire with forty statements measuring the utilization of safe nursing care practices. The study was conducted in two research environments namely: Vicente Sotto Memorial Medical Center with 70 ward nurses respondents and 45 ward nurses from Saint Vincent General Hospital. Study results revealed that most of the respondents belonged to the age bracket 21-25 years old, mostly females and within a year of service in the hospital. The researchers also found out that safe nursing care practices pertaining to the room, unit, medication, administration, waste disposal and potential for injury were highly utilized. Based from the findings, the researchers strongly recommend that a proposed action plan be implemented and further studies be made in line with the promotion of patient safety in the hospitals.
