520 _aSummary: Theft is one of the unsolved problems today. Theft can't easily be vanished but it can be prevented. Motorcycle theft has become rampant through the years since motorcycles can be easily stolen and change its appearance so it will be unrecognizable. The researchers had developed a system that can stop thieves from further stealing a motorcycle by locking its engine, create an alarming sound to its surroundings and locate its current location. It can be locked by a remote control through a certain distance and a cellular device that can send its commands through SMS (Short Message Service) anytime, anywhere. In this study, the researchers used two types of research methods namely, descriptive and applied. Descriptive research is "aimed at casting light on current issues or problems through a process of data collection that enables them to describe the situation more completely than was possible without employing this method." (Fox, W. & Bayat, M.S. (2007) "A Guide to Managing Research" Juta Publications, p.45). Applied research "aims at finding a solution for an immediate problem facing a society, or an industrial/business organization, whereas fundamental research is mainly concerned with generalizations and with the formulation of a theory". (Kothari, C.R. (2008) "Research Methodology: Methods and Techniques" New Age International). These methods determine the components used and the importance of the proposed study to motorcycle owners who will be the beneficiaries of this project. Furthermore, the study describes the importance of giving the reader ideas on how the proposed system will work on its implementation. As a result, this system is named Motorcycle Security System for its abilities to prevent a thief from further running away with the motorcycle. The owner can now lock the motorcycle when parked anywhere, and leave it there giving the owner confidence that thieves can't easily steal it. The owner can lock and unlock the motorcycle's engine. Its lock state also have an alarm system that when its moved it will create a loud sound that alerts its surroundings that this motorcycle is stolen. When engine is locked it continuous creating alarming sounds until the owner unlocks it. This system uses 2 devices, a remote control and a cellular phone. The remote control can send two commands, lock and unlock. While with the phone it can send 3 commands, lock, unlock and where. Lock command cut offs the flow of the engine's electricity to immobilize it and turn on its alarm system, after sending this command, device will update the owner that the motorcycle is locked. Unlock command mobilizes the motorcycles engine, after sending this command, device will update the owner that the motorcycle is unlocked. Where command asks the device the current location of the motorcycle, sending the owner the google map link.
