520 _aThis study explored the significance of ecotourism in promoting sustainable development and environmental conservation. Ecotourism, as a sub-component of sustainable tourism, fosters economic and social development by encouraging eco-friendly activities that enhance appreciation of natural landscapes, flora, fauna, and cultural heritage. However, climate change, manifested through extreme weather events such as typhoons, poses significant threats to ecotourism destinations. This research focuses on Madridejos, Bantayan Island, Cebu, a popular ecotourism site, which has faced devastating impacts form typhoons, including Typhoon Yolanda. The study aims to fill gaps in previous research by conducting an environmental and situational analysis of Bantayan Island, assessing the challenges faced by local tourism stakeholders.
