520			_aThis study investigated the motivational factors driving smoking behavior among Business Process Outsourcing [BPO] employees at Sykes-Foundever Company in Cebu City, Philippines. BPO workers face intense demands that require simultaneous speaking, listening, and observation, which, combined with unpredictable schedules and sedentary work, can lead to musculoskeletal and psychological stress. Long hours, night shifts, and high targets may contribute to dependence on substances like tobacco, raising health risks for chronic illnesses such as heart disease and cancer. While smoking may provide temporary stress relief, it ultimately exacerbates health issues and can harm finances and personal relationships.
