520			_a"Sole proprietorship convenience stores play a crucial role in providing everyday essentials to local communities in Cebu City. However, these businesses commonly encounter inventory-related difficulties, including overstocking, understocking, and inadequate storage practices. Such issues often lead to product spoilage, financial setbacks, and decreased customer satisfaction. In light of these concerns, this study was conducted by researchers from the University of Cebu Banilad to examine the inventory management practices adopted by sole proprietorship convenience stores within the city. The primary objective of the study was to explore how these small-scale retailers manage key inventory functions, specifically sourcing, storing, and demand forecasting and to develop a practical quick guide aimed at improving their inventory control strategies. Grounded in the Theory of Constraints, ABC Analysis Model, and Control Theory, the research utilized a descriptive-survey design. Data were collected through face-to-face administration of researcher-made questionnaires, targeting thirty-six (36) store managers selected via simple random sampling. Inclusion criteria required participants to be full-time personnel with a minimum of one year of inventory management experience. The collected data were analyzed using frequency distribution, weighted mean, and one-way ANOVA. Findings revealed that most stores employed between one to three staff members, operated within small to medium-sized spaces, had been in business for one to five years, and offered a variety of fast-moving consumer goods. Inventory practices, particularly in sourcing, storing, and demand forecasting were found to be only slightly implemented. Moreover, statistically significant differences in inventory management practices were observed when respondents were grouped by business profile. Based on these insights, the study proposed a quick guide designed to help store owners strengthen their inventory systems, minimize losses, and improve operational efficiency." --Abstract
