520			_a"The business process outsourcing (bpo) industry in the Philippines has experienced remarkable growth. It stands as one of the most significant job generators in the country today, making substantial contributions to employment and economic growth. Cebu remains a top destination for firms in the bpo industry seeking to explore or expand beyond Metro Manila. In 2022, approximately 60% of bpo expansions were made in Cebu. As it gains prominence in the local economy, the welfare and health of bpo employees have become of primary importance. One that is notably significant is their sexual and reproductive health, encompassing their access to information and services related to contraception, sexually transmitted infections (STIs), family planning, and comprehensive sexual health (World Health Organization, 2011). Bpo employees in the Philippines predominantly fall within the age range of 18-34, often working in unconventional shifts to serve global clients. Given the predominantly young and sociable demographic, an increasing number of individuals in this sector are deemed to be participating in premarital sex. Although the interaction of social, organizational, personal, and environmental factors is complicated, it has a big impact, particularly on sexual behavior. Concurrently, the incidence of sexually transmitted diseases (STDs) and human immunodeficiency virus (HIV)/acquired immunodeficiency syndrome (AIDS) cases in the Philippines is increasing. According to the Department of Health (DOH) Epidemiology Bureau in their Summary of Newly-Diagnosed cases, Central Visayas ranked second with the highest new cases of HIV/AIDS for the month of January 2023 with a total of 1,454 cases. Notably, these cases affect individuals of various age groups, with young adults aged 15 to 45 constituting the majority of those affected as reported by the DOH. The prevalence of unprotected sex and the company’s lack of attempts to provide programs for the prevention of STIs are particularly significant (Melgar et al., 2009)." --Background of the study
