520			_a"An AI chatbot is a software program powered by artificial intelligence that simulates human-like conversation and understands user queries. It enhances users writing performance by offering instant feedback, generating ideas, and improving grammar and style, ultimately making the writing process more efficient and creative. This study aimed to examine the impact of AI chatbot use on the writing abilities of Bachelor of Science in Psychology students at the University of Cebu-Banilad. Specifically, it investigated whether a frequent interaction with AI chatbots influences students' writing proficiency. A descriptive-correlational design was employed in this study, utilizing a random sample of two hundred seventy (270) participants was selected through Cochran's Formula and stratified random sampling. A researcher-made questionnaires and writing assessments were used to evaluate students' writing abilities and assess its effect with their AI chatbot engagement. The research was conducted at the University of Cebu-Banilad. The results collected from the participants were analyzed using frequency count and percentage, Chi-square test of independence, and weighted mean. The findings revealed a moderate influence of AI chatbot use on students' writing abilities, with slight improvements in organization and coherence but minimal impact on creativity and critical thinking. No significant relationship was found between demographic factors (type of AI chatbot used, a frequency of use) and writing abilities among BS Psychology students at the University of Cebu-Banilad. The study suggests that while AI chatbots can be useful tools for academic writing, human-guided interventions remain essenial. A proposed framework for optimizing AI-assisted learning was developed." —Abstract
