520			_a"Crime prevention requires collaboration among judicial authorities, social sectors. and community partners. This study aimed to assess the resident's perception of the preventive strategies implemented in Barangay Tipolo The study used a quantitative, descriptive correlational design to examine how residents assessed the crime prevention strategies in Barangay Tipolo, Mandaue City. A total of 387 residents were selected through purposive sampling from the barangay population, with inclusion criteria covering age, length of residency, voter registration, and willingness to participate Data were gathered using a researcher-made questionnaire focused on police visibility and police response, measured through a numerical rating scale. The instrument underwent a dry run and reliability testing, yielding an acceptable Cronbach's alpha value of 0.933845. Data collection was done face to face, with informed consent and ethical safeguards observed throughout. Descriptive statistics such as frequency, percentage, and weighted mean were used, while the chi-square test of independence determined whether respondents demographic profiles were related to their perceptions of crime prevention strategies. The researchers adhered to the ethical principles of beneficence, non-maleficence, justice, and autonomy. The findings showed that most respondents were young adults, specifically aged 26-33, followed by adults aged 34-41, 42-49, 50-57 and lastly, 58-65 years of age. Overall, residents rated crime prevention strategies in Barangay Tipolo as fair in terms of police visibility and very good in terms of police response. Police presence in marketplaces and responses to routine service calls received the highest ratings. Statistical analysis revealed no significant relationship between respondents' age, gender, or educational attainment and their perceptions of crime prevention strategies, indicating that views were generally consistent across demographic groups. The study found that residents of Barangay Tipolo perceived the implemented crime prevention strategies as moderately effective, with an overall assessment rating of fair. The aggregate mean suggests that while existing measures contribute to public safety, there is room for improvement, particularly in areas such as police visibility, consistency of response, and strengthening community-police collaboration." —Abstract
