520			_a"The Bureau of Fire Protection [BFP] plays a crucial role in life preservation and properties through fire suppression, rescue operations, and emergency response. However, personnel at the Region 7 Consolacion Fire Station continue to face operational hurdles that hinder their efficiency and performance. This qualitative research aimed to explore the lived experiences of BFP personnel in fire and rescue operations, focusing on the challenges encountered in terms of equipment shortages, manpower limitations, time pressure, and operational constraints such as traffic congestion and incomplete information during emergencies. Using a descriptive phenomenological design, data were gathered from ten (10) BFP personnel through in-depth interviews and thematic analysis. The study revealed that BFP personnel consistently uphold life preservation as their primary duty and strengthen coordination through effective radio communication. Despite their dedication, they experience persistent issues such as inadequate equipment, limited manpower, delayed response due to traffic, and stress caused by time pressure. To address these difficulties, personnel employ coping mechanisms including teamwork proficiency, debriefing sessions, and social support. The findings emphasize the need for improved equipment modernization, increased manpower, enhanced communication systems, and continuous training to sustain operational readiness. Furthermore, regular debriefings and wellness programs are recommended to support firefighters' mental resilience and performance. Ultimately, this study underscored the vital role of BFP personnel as frontliners in public safety and provides practical recommendations to strengthen fire and rescue operations in Consolacion, Cebu, and other similar stations nationwide." —Abstract
