520			_a"With the issuance of the Memorandum Order from the Commission on Higher Education (CHED), mandating all Higher Education Institutions (HEls), such as colleges and universities, to adopt an Outcome Based Education (OBE) curriculum, this worktext came into existence as an answer to the challenge to produce an educational material that is OBE compliant. Topics of this worktext were primarily derived from the suggested areas of studies as indicated in the said memorandum circular. Corollary, lessons of this worktext followed strictly the OBE Curriculum guide as conceptualized by curriculum writers and evaluated by the OBE panel. This worktext is divided into two parts. The first part deals with natural disasters, which aims to educate the readers and the students about the nature of Mother Nature's wrath, so that they can mitigate its impact, adapt, and prepare before such calamities. The second part focuses more on the man-made disasters. It traces the sources and outlines the effects, so that students can propose preventive measures and alternative solutions to such environmental problems. At the end of each chapter, the students will complete multiple Learning Activities (LA) in consonance with the Intended Learning Outcomes (ILO). The teacher on the other hand will find them helpful as they were aligned with the suggested Assessment Tasks as elaborated in their OBE Curriculum guide. Further, this worktext is inspired by Clash of Clans (COC) characters, a famous mobile game today patronized by majority of students.
