520 _aSummary: The prevalence of political dynasty has long been an issue in Philippine society as it has been a very popular topic in debates forums. The Congress has yet to pass an enabling law for the non-executory provision in the 1987 Philippine Constitution prohibiting political dynasty. Along with this, legal authorities and political analysts have been trying to identify whether or not political dynasty is really the main problem leading to bad politics. In an attempt to identify whether political dynasty is advantageous or disadvantageous in this era, this study aims to specifically identify the effects of political dynasty in one local government unit, i.e,. Ormoc City. Such objective is to be attained through interviews of government employees and members of the political clans themselves. From the data gathered, the results show that political dynasty is effective in Ormoc City because of the continuity of government projects. The researcher recommends a further quantitative study using the variables identified in this study in other local communities.
