520 | _aSummary : In the field of teaching, intelligence and school performance are the most important measures to considered in determining as to who will be admitted in this profession. This study is anchored on the Bell Curve Theory of Richard Hermstein and Charles Murray that explains that intelligence is a strong predictor of school and career achievement (1994). This study seeks to determine the relationship between the academic performance and the performance of the graduates of the University of Cebu, Banilad Campus in the Licensure Exams for Teachers (LET) to be able to formulate an intervention program to be used in translational research. This study will utilize the descriptive research method in determining the relationships among the BEED graduates' academic performance and their performance in LET. The study was conducted at College of Teachers Education of UC-Banilad. There 85 graduates who were the subjects of this investigation. the subjects' was used as the determiners of the academic performance; while their rating LET was obtained from the Professional Regulation Commission. To interpret the profile of the subjects as to academic and board performance, the simple percentage was utilize and chi-square test of independence was calculated to test the relationship between variables. Most of the BEED graduates had an average academic performance and most of them passed in the board examination (LET). There is a relationship between academic achievements and board exam results of the BEED graduates. Preparing the students to pass the Licensure examination should start with intensifying the teaching and learning activities in the classes especially on the board courses or subjects that would be covered in the board examination to ensure that they would pass the licensure exam. The cognitive ability of the students would be enhanced when they would be given various types of exams that include situational analysis. Then an intervention plan should be implemented to enhance and intensify the students' learning in the major courses that would be part in the board examination. | ||
