520 _aSummary: The development of tourism anywhere very much relies on the development of appropriate infrastructure such as accommodation, restaurants, built-up attractions, tours and transport which services the needs of a tourist and encourages investment in the sector. This study assessed the tourism infrastructure development in Mactan Shrine fo rthe last five years and its impact to the local residents. This study utilized quantitative-descriptive survey method. A researcher made questionnaire used in gathering data to the 366 respondents who were the residents in Brgy. Mactan. The findings of this study shows that majority of the respondents were 46 years old and above at the time of study. Most of them were females and were vendors. and have been residing in the Barangay for 31 years and above. For the last five years, there were infrastructural developments in the shrine such as additional lights, souvenirs shops. garbage bins, comfort room cubicles and its daily maintenance, existence of more sea food restaurants, colored pathways, and the vicinity of the police station. The respondents strongly agreed that these developments were implemented in the site and these have given them a great impact in business and job opportunities as well as the assurance of their safety security. It is concluded that the tourism infrastructure developments in Mactan Shrine serves as the vital role in boosting the City's revenues and income that lad to further developments in the Shrine as well as the community. This also means that the LGU and the Barangay Hall plays a vital role in maintaing and developing the site. Thus, the researchers recommended that an action plan should be implemented for the maintenance and further development of the site.
