520 _aSummary: This study talks about the value of the National Roman Catholic shrines to the people. The purpose of this study was to assess how people perceived the National Roman Catholic Shrines in Cebu. It further determined the factors that influenced the people to visit those shrines as well as the problems they encountered when visiting the shrines. There were 248 visitors of the shrine who were the respondents of this study, and was conducted in basilica Minore del Sto. NiƱo, National Shrine of St. Joseph, Cebu Archdiocesan Shrine of St. Pedro Calungsod, and Nuestra Senoria Virgen de la Regla. This research used the descriptive survey method in gathering data. The researchers conducted the survey by giving out researchers-made questionnaires to the people visiting the Roman Catholic Shrines. The statistical treatment that was used for data analysis was the simple percentage and weighted mean. The result of the study showed that majority of the respondents were female; belonged in the range of 18-25; Filipinos and most of them were college level/college graduate, The people perceived that the National Roman Catholic shrines were a place of worship and a place to talk with Christ and that it helped preserved the culture of the people and has generated more income for the locals. The factors that influence the people to visit the shrines were their religious beliefs and being socially influenced. The common problems that the people encountered when visiting the shrines were the presence of robbers and beggars; air and noise pollution where everywhere; and overcrowding of people in the shrines. It is therefore, concluded that the people perceived that the National Roman Catholic Shrines are a place of religious beliefs, has a cultural significance and contributed to the tourism industry.
