520 _aSummary: The researchers have observed that the populations of the Korean students enrolling in ESL schools have increased. This study aims to determine the factors influencing Korean students to study English in Cebu City, Philippines. Descriptive- correlational research design was used to this study in describing the different factors that influenced Korean students to study in Cebu City and to determine the relationship between those variables. The main subjects for this study were 150 Korean students from the three different ESL schools in Cebu City. There were 64 Korean students in the Center for Premier International language (CPILS), 53 in the Perfect English Language International School (PELIS) and 33 in the Cebu Tutorial Language Inc. The gathered data was subject to the following treatments: simple percentage formula, weighted mean and chi-square test of independence. The findings showed that Korean students highly agreed on the financial factors, professional competency of ESL teachers and institution, Hospitality and Tourism in Cebu City and the benefits that they get in studying English in Cebu City, Philippines. The last factor is the geographical factor in Korea and Philippines. This shows that the Korean students were enticed to take ESL program in Cebu City because of low cost tuition fees, high quality of education offered, accommodating locals, easy accessibility and they also believed that the place will provide them greater opportunities to improve their communications skills. The result of the test of hypothesis says that no significant relationship between the profile of the respondents and the factors influencing Korean students to study English in Cebu City, Philippines. Koreans preferred to learn English language in Cebu City because it meets their expectations on the quality, affordability and accessibility of the education. This study suggests recommendations to improve the quality to standards of ESL schools in order to attract more Koreans to take programs in Cebu City.
