520 | _aSummary: This research identified the factors, proficiency and answered the question as to what is the proficiency level of listening comprehension of the 2nd year BSED - English students of the University of Cebu-Banilad campus? By the end of the study, the researchers proposed and intervention plan to be added to the curriculum that can be used to develop the listening skills of the students. This ultimately prepares the students for the future international exposures and for the institution to produce graduates with an excellent communication skills. There were 30 respondents chosen to fulfill the purpose of the study, these were all 2nd year students BSED students chosen via cluster sampling method. The study was conducted at the Speech laboratory of the University of Cebu-Banilad campus wherein the respondents were provided the necessary tools to participate in the study. After the execution of the activity, the data was gathered and the researchers used the descriptive method to answer the study's questions and purpose. Overall the respondents average of the proficiency level of comprehension was at 43.30% which is considered as ''FAIR'' in terms of the given standards. The researchers concluded that this not meet the expectation of the 2nd year BSED students as they were provided with the right tools and materials to perform with excellent results. Moreover, there is no significant relationship between the profile of the respondents and their level of listening comprehension, and most factors affecting the listening comprehension (vice versa), except for the speaker's contribution and type of secondary school attended that obviously affected the respondents per the data gathered. | ||
