520 _aSummary: This study determined the learning processes utilized by the student nurses in Medical-Surgical Nursing subject in the College of Nursing in University of Cebu- Banilad. Specifically, this study determined the profile of the student nurses in terms of age, gender, and the number of times the subject was taken. The study found out three learning processes both from the categories, learning by doing and learning by observing that showed least utilization which was the bases of the proposed action plan geared towards improving the utilization of learning processes among student nurses in Medical-Surgical Nursing through developed programs. This study utilized a descriptive-correlational research design. There were about 277 respondents composed of level four student nurses who took nursing care management 103 (care of clients with problems in Oxygenation, Fluid and Electrolyte Balance, Nutrition, metabolism and endocrine system) and Nursing Care Management 104 (care of clients with problems in inflammatory and immunologic response, perception and coordination). Convenient sampling method was used in identifying the respondents and distributing the questionnaires. The research environment was the University of Cebu- Banilad. A researcher-made questionnaire was utilized using the statistical formula such as simple percentage, weighted mean and the chi-square test of independence. The findings of the study revealed that majority of the respondents belong to the age bracket 19-26 years old, female, and taken Medical-surgical nursing more than once. In general, the number of times the subject was taken showed significance in the utilization of learning process of student nurses. Therefore, the study concluded that there was a high utilization of learning processes among student nurses who took Medical-surgical nursing more than once. Plan of activities for the proposed action plan includes providing student nurses adequate information on the result or findings of the study.
