University of Cebu- College of Nursing, an institution of higher learning, is no exemption in this predicament. Recognizing the different variables affecting absences and tardiness of Clinical Instructors is very substantial in planning for immediate corrective procedures. This will help in improving the quality of work performed by Clinical Instructors, increasing job satisfaction, and boosting employee morale leading to a much better performance, better service to the institution thus rendering higher quality education. Moreover, it will help lessen the cost imposed on the institution should absences and tardiness become excessive hence improving the institution's profitability. This study aimed to ascertain the different personal and employment variables and the extent to which these affect absences and tardiness. At present, it was found out that the method used in monitoring the attendance and the ways these are implemented are beset with problems based on the responses of the respondents in the researcher-made questionnaire and interviews. In the light of the findings of the study, the researcher recommended the immediate implementation of the Proposed Action Plan specifically on the establishment of a well managed attendance policy with respect to the improvement of attendance record of Clinical Instructors in the work place.
